Usually the use of ketamine for patients with traumatic brain injuries is contraindicated due to the concerns of increasing intracranial pressure. However, these concerns came from early studies and case reports that were improperly controlled and designed. Recently, there were studies done which challenge the use of ketamine being safe to use in these patients. What is the Goal of the Study? The purpose of the study was to review the use of ketamine for induction, sedation and maintenance in patients with a traumatic brain injury in different clinical settings associated with anesthesia.
